Relief, lakes and fauna and flora from Tanzania:
Tanzania is a well developed country and well known in the entire world due to the very organized tourism. The relief is varied starting from plain areas towards the Indian Ocean, but also in the central and north-western parts of the country. The south part is represented by a mountain chain which is going from south to north till the border with Kenya where is Tanzania and Africa’s highest peak, Kilimanjaro volcano with its 5.894 m height.
On the other part of the Great Rift Valley is the Serengeti Plain and further are the shores of the largest African lake, Lake Victoria at the border with Uganda. Other important Tanzanian lakes are Lake Tanganyika in west and Lake Malawi in south. A large part of the territory is covered with luxurious tropical forests and savannas among a good part of them were transformed in protected areas like national parks and reservations to protect the fauna and flora (baobabs, acacias, black rhinos, lions, cheetahs, monkeys, zebras, buffaloes, giraffes).
Tourism, national parks and reservations, cities, climate, population and resources:
Among the largest and best known national parks and reservations from Tanzania we remember Serengeti National Park, Mikumi National Park, Ngorongoro Crater National Park or the Selous Game Reserve. But besides these, more and more tourists are interested to climb Africa’s highest peak, Kilimanjaro. The climate in Tanzania is tropical with an annual average of the temperature between 28 and 32º C. (Find more journeys on blog.worldlifetimejourneys.com) Dodoma is country’s capital situated in center, but the ex capital and the largest city and port is Dar es Salaam. The island of Zanzibar is the best known and famous among tourists.
The predominantly rural population composed by more than 120 ethnic groups is working in agriculture, but the most important Tanzanian economic sectors are the working and the export of resources of gold (the third producer after South Africa and Ghana), diamonds, natural gas, coal, timber, iron, uranium, nickel, chrome, tin, niobium and especially the well developed tourism. The country obtained the independence from Great Britain between 1961 and 1963. Visit Tanzania!
