Relief, climate, agriculture and activities in Taiwan:
This country is an ex-part of China, but today it is still considered to be a part of China which has a tight relationship with. Approximately two thirds of the relief is mountainous with some peaks over 3.500 m height. The highest peak of Taiwan Mountains is Yu Shan at 3.997 m height. All around these mountains is a fertile plain and a coast with beautiful beaches.
The climate is generally tropical due to the geographical position of the country, but at higher elevations the climate is getting colder becoming subtropical. The annual media of the temperature is 22-24º C and the rainfall differ according to the season because in summer there is the danger for typhoons and tropical storms. The agriculture represents a main sector of activity cultivating rice, corn and citrus but fishing is also important. However, the most important activity sectors are the industry, the services and the tourism.
