Sweden is a beautiful country with a various relief. The Scandinavian Alps also present in the neighbor country, Norway, are spread throughout the western part of the country offering to its visitors the most beautiful landscapes. The highest peak is Kebnekajse with its 2.111 m height. Towards the east, the mountains get a plateau and downy aspect with heights of several hundred meters and towards the Baltic Sea the relief is lower with a plain aspect in the east and south parts, where the majority of arable lands are situated. In south is temperate maritime, many times milder due to the warm Gulf stream, but in north it becomes cold and even frozen at the North Polar Circle. The warm Gulf stream brings warm summers and milder winters, but in the north part summers are cooler and winters are harsh. The summer average of the temperature can exceed 20° C and the winter one is under 0° C. Sweden is a country with few and short rivers (Ume, Lule, Angerman, Torne), but the lakes rich in fish fauna are everywhere. The most important lakes are: Siljan, Vänern, Malaren, Vättern or Hjalmaren.

This is a country rich in natural resources and besides forests, it has large reserves of iron, gold, zinc, copper, lead, uranium and silver.
