By car:
North entry: follow the European road E578 (DN12) from Bistrița – Reghin – Gheorgheni – Miercurea Ciuc.
East entry: follow the National road DN11/13e from Brașov – Onești – Târgu Secuiesc.
West entry: follow the National road DN13e which is connected to the European road E60 coming from France – Switzerland – Austria – Hungary – Oradea – Cluj Napoca – Sighișoara.
South entry: follow the European road E578 (DN11) from Brașov.
Because is a quite small city as surface and population, built in a mountainous area, the access is quite difficult and the most accessible way is from Brașov (south).
By train:
Sfântu Gheorghe City is not a railway junction for the country, but there are daily trains which connect with the main cities of Romania. The most important railway routes which cross Sfântu Gheorghe are:

The nearest mountains are Baraolt, Bodoc, Bretcu, Buzau, Intorsurii, Nemira and Vrancei Mountains. The average elevation for the city is 560 m height and the climate in Sfantu Gheorghe City is temperate-continental, cold with big differences of temperature between summer and winter.
Here are registered some of the lowest temperatures from Romania during winter. Summers are hot and winters very cold and the annual average of the temperature is 7-8° C. Sfantu Gheorghe City is crossed by Olt River, one of the most important rivers in Romania and there are also two small lakes in the area of Paius David Lieutenant Street.
