Relief, rivers and climate in Serbia:
Serbia is one of the world’s newest countries with a relief formed by plains in north and mountains in south with a part of the Dinaric Alps where the maximum elevation is in Daravica peak with 2.656 m height. Moravia Plain in center and Danube Plain in north, crossed by the Danube River and others rivers like Sava, Morava, Drava and Tisa, are the most fertile lands in the country. The climate is temperate-continental with Mediterranean influences in the south part. The largest city and the capital of the country is Belgrade a beautiful city with a rich history, but there are also other important cities like Novi Sad or Subotica. Serbians are involved in agriculture cultivating cereals, sugar cane and sunflower and growing pigs or taking care about the orchards (on the 2nd place in the world as production of plums). It has important resources of coal, bauxite, copper, iron and plumb. However, most of the people have a poor standard of living.
