By train:

When to go:
The best period to visit Reșița City is between April and September-October. Between these months the weather is good for visits and walks and many tourists enjoy the nearby National Parks. Summer is quite hot and the air is dry, but in spring and autumn there are many days rich in rainfall.

Resita City is situated in the south part of Banat region, in a low relief, a depression area from Banat Mountains (Western Carpathians), surrounded from all sides by mountains (Semenic, Dognecei). The average altitude for the city is 200-250 m height. The climate is temperate-continental with powerful influences coming from the Mediterranean Sea, where summers are dry and hot and winters are long and cool due to the high elevation and surrounding relief. The annual average of the temperature is 8-9° C and the rainfall is 800 mm per year. Resita City is crossed by Barzava River and the nearby Secru Lake is an important place for fishing.
