Relief and climate of North Korea:

N. Korea separated from South Korea at 09 September 1948 when obtained its independency. The country has a mostly mountainous relief with the maximum elevation in the Pektu San peak of 2.744 m height. The only low and fertile regions are on the coast or in the northern part at the border with China. The climate is continental with hot summers and cold winters. The rainfall is high in the monsoon season.

Agriculture and population:

Among the main activities is the agriculture where locals cultivate rice, corn, barley, potatoes and other vegetables and cereals. Unfortunately the conditions for the inhabitants are very severe, with arduous laws especially when speaking about acting against the government. (Find more journeys on blog.worldlifetimejourneys.com) Besides these, a large part of the population is living in poverty and many people are dying of starvation, the absence of the aliments represents a real problem due to the isolation of the country from the rest of the world.

Tourism and resources in North Korea:

Country’s past is worse luck because between 1950 and 1953 existed a war between the two Korean states initiated by the north state to conquer the entire peninsula. The tourism is very limited like the telecommunications, so that the economy is based upon agriculture and the resources of iron, coal, tungsten and zinc and upon some industries like textile, chemical and engineering ones.
