Relief, climate, population and agriculture:
Guinea has a relief composed by plain at the Atlantic side and in east, but in west and north are the Fouta Djallon Mountains. The highest point is the Nimba peak with its 1.752 m height. The climate is tropical with a very high rainfall of more than 4.000 mm annually. The population is generally rural and is working in agriculture mostly for the own living. The inhabitants cultivate peanuts, rice, manioc, pineapple, banana, coffee and oil palms.
Resources and economy of Guinea:
The most important resources are the ones of bauxite for production of alumina (around a quarter of the world’s reserves), gold, diamonds, uranium and other metals. (Find more journeys on blog.worldlifetimejourneys.com) Besides the export of these resources, the country obtains its earnings from fishing, agriculture but very low from tourism. This is a country avoided by tourists because of the intern armed conflicts. This is not the only problem because unfortunately the country is a low developed country with problems in all its domains, but it has its own beauties. Visit Guinea!
