Relief, climate, name, agriculture and population:
Grenada has a main island and many other small ones and the best is the island of Carriacou. The relief is complex, with a downy area with luxurious vegetation, but also has deep valleys. Some lakes are present here on the islands, but also sandy and beautiful beaches. The climate is tropical with temperatures between 20 and 35º C and the rainfall is between 1500 and 3500 mm annually. This insular country is also known as The Island of Spice because of the production of nutmeg (the first world’s producer) and also of cinnamon, cloves, pepper and ginger. (Find more journeys on blog.worldlifetimejourneys.com) The fertile soil is good for agriculture for the cultures of banana, citrus and cacao. This island was discovered in 1498 by Columbus and was inhabited at that time by the indigenous people of the Caribbean. It was conquered by the French in 1650 and later captured by the British in 1762. The country obtained its independence from Great Britain in 07 February 1974. Besides agriculture, the tourism is a very important activity in the country. Visit Grenada!
