Relief, population and other aspects about Greenland:
The country is known as the largest island in the world, a Danish territory, but it has a surface dozens of times bigger than Denmark. Its relief is mostly covered with a thick layer of ice, so the transport is very difficult on its territory. Because of the glaciers activity, the population is very low and is concentrated in majority on the coast and in the south-western part of the island where the climate is mild and here’s also the small capital of Nuuk. The country has obtained in 1979 from Denmark, the permission to administrate itself, although is continuously controlled by Denmark’s monarch, queen Margaret the 2nd.
Climate, agriculture, activities and cities:
The climate is very rough and because of the glaciers activity, the coast is very complex, with numerous beautiful fjords and islands. The agriculture is minimal because of the territory, but the locals cultivate beet and turnip and as animals the Eskimo people are taking care of their sheep, goats and reindeer. The surrounding waters are full of salmon, code and shrimp. Although initially the country adhered to the European Union in 1972, it has retreated in 1982. Some other important cities of the country are all situated on the coast because of the rough interior of the island: Sisimiut, Qaanaaq, Illulissat, Quaqortoq. Visit Greenland!
