Gambia is a low elevation relief country, crossed from east to west by Gambia River which has a fertile basin. The maximum width of the country is 80 km. The territory is covered with arable lands, but especially by savannas which includes many species of fauna like monkeys, lions, elephants, giraffes, antelopes, zebras and others. The locals from the country work in agriculture mainly cultivating plants like rice, peanuts (more than a half of the national earnings), millet, sorghum, corn, cotton, manioc and coco trees.
