Relief and fauna and flora of French Guyana:

French Guyana has two different parts of relief, a low and fertile plain on the coast, the relief growing in elevation as we go towards the border with Brazil. The biggest part of the country is covered with luxurious equatorial forests. A part of the border with the neighbor state Suriname is very mooted for a long time. Even though the number of the population is very small, the fauna and flora’s species have a large number of monkeys, ant eaters, tapirs, ocelots, but also caimans in the country’s rivers, respective many species of plants.

Rivers, climate, capital, agriculture and resources:

The longest river is Maroni from the border with Suriname. The climate is equatorial wet with annual temperatures around 26-30º C. This type of climate brings four seasons in this Amazonian country: two wet seasons from April to August and from November to February and two dry seasons from August to October-November and also from the month of February till March-April. (Find more journeys on blog.worldlifetimejourneys.com) The annual rainfall is around 4.000 mm. Cayenne is the largest city of the country and also the capital, an important port at the Atlantic Ocean. The inhabitants mainly export bananas, sugar, alumina ore and timber. Because of the few resources, the country rely on France help and its actual inhabitants are Creole people, a mix of Europeans with American Indians.
