Relief, fauna and flora and the economy of Equatorial Guinea:
Equatorial Guinea even if has a small surface, its relief is very complex. The continental part is low in elevation with tropical forests that cover the most part of the territory and the insular part covered by mountains, where is the country’s highest point, the volcanic peak Pico de Santa Isabel at 3.008 m height. The fauna and the flora are very rich in species. (Find more journeys on blog.worldlifetimejourneys.com) Among the best known we remember elephants, gorillas, leopards, crocodiles, chimpanzees, turtles and whales. Unfortunately some of the species are threatened with disappearance due to the continuous deforestation. The economy is based upon the production of cacao, coffee, rice, bananas, yams and manioc and upon the export of oil, timber and cement resources. Unfortunately after obtaining the independence from Spain at 12 October 1968, the country remained underdeveloped. Visit Equatorial Guinea!
