Constanta City for children, which name’s coming from the great Roman Emperor Constantin the Great, had a long and beautiful history, but was more and more appreciated and recognized as a harbor since XIX century during the reign of Carol the 1st. During this period were built many elegant buildings of today. Nowadays is the 4th harbor in size from Europe and it’s situated at short distance from the beautiful resorts on Black Sea coast which annually attract hundreds of thousands of tourists. The name comes from the Roman writer Ovid exiled right here in the VIII century B.C by emperor Augustus.

Depending to your children age, you can choose in Constanta City different places to go. Constanta can be a good place for your children if they are big enough, preferably over 10 years old, so they can understand its history and we recommend to take a walk in the historical city. In fact, this city is a mix of modern buildings, old historic ones where many of them are declared historical monuments of Romania and even of ruins which remind about Constanta’s long history. Also, Constanta City offers you and for children unforgotten experiences, when visiting city’s main museums and places of worship. Also, here is the biggest mosque on Romania’s territory, Carol the 1st Mosque or Mahmudia named also the Great Mosque, which reminds about the Ottoman past of the city. If you want to have some fun or new experiences for the kids to completely attract their attention, we recommend you some of the main places in which every part of the family will feel perfect. You can choose to go to Natural Science Museum Complex, where you have to choose between the Dolphinarium, Planetarium, Aquarium or the exotic birds exhibition.
Dolphinarium gives both you and especially to your children a beautiful experience which you will always remember. Here, any of the daily shows with dolphins will delight your eyes. The aquarium situated nearby, is also the biggest from Romania and shelters hundreds of marine species, a place where kids can learn about these species behavior and life and many more. Planetarium is another experience, hard to understand by kids, but with a bit of effort they will see how our planetary system works and can be initiated in astronomy. The exotic birds exhibition is like a mini zoological garden focused on those over 16 existing exotic species in over 150 birds.
Besides this, in Constanta City we recommend for children the musical fountain, a walk on the promenade, a visit to observatory, to the natural micro reservation or simply you can relax on the beach.
