Relief, climate and waters:
Congo is a country with a low elevation and the relief is composed by plains and hills that rarely pass over 700 m height. The most part of the territory is covered by tropical forest or by arable lands and pastures for the numerous herds of animals. It is a country with a high humidity and a tropical climate with temperatures between 23 and 28° C, whose eastern part is crossed by the Congo River waters that form the largest part of the border with its neighbor the Democratic Republic of Congo. Among its tributaries we mention Ubangi and Sangha.
Population, agriculture and resources:
The Kongo population and also a few dozens of ethnic groups are working in agriculture cultivating coffee and cacao trees, rice, manioc, yams, peanuts, oil palms and orchards. The most part of the earnings comes from the massive resources of oil, copper, cobalt, diamonds, timber and other mineral resources. Among these, we can say about the firsts that this country is one of the world’s first producers. But, due to the territory without access, the country is very bad in infrastructure, transport and telecommunications.
