This archipelago forms one of the smallest African countries and is completely surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean. It’s composed by 10 big islands and 5 other smaller and their relief is volcanic, with the highest peak, the active volcano Pico do Cano at 2.829 m height. The climate is tropical with constant temperatures between 24 and 30º C and the rainfall is low. The inhabitants are working in agriculture, but due to the fact that the arable lands are limited, a large part of the aliments are imported.
