By car:
North entry: follow the European road E87 (DN2b, DN26) from Ukraine – Moldova Republic – Galați.
South-East entry: follow the European road E87 (DN22) from Turkey-Bulgaria-Mangalia-Constanța-Tulcea.
South entry: follow the European road E584 (DN21) from Călărași-Slobozia.
West entry: follow the National road DN25a and DN23 from Tecuci, respective Focșani.
South-West entry: follow the National roads DN22 and DN2b from Râmnicu Sărat, respective Buzău.
East entry: follow the National roads DN22 and DN22d from Tulcea County.
By train:
Brăila city it’s not an important railway junction of Romania and the main route which passes through Brăila is Bucharest-Galați.
However, there are other railway routes which cross Brăila like:
Constanța – Brăila
Brașov – Brăila
Buzău – Brăila and Galați – Brăila.
To get here by train from most of Romania’s major cities, you need connection trains.
By plane:
Brăila doesn’t have an airport, but the nearest international airports are in Constanța (130 km) “Mihail Kogălniceanu” International Airport and in Bucharest (200 km) “Henri Coandă” (Otopeni) International Airport.

When to go:
The best period to visit Brăila City is in spring, summer and autumn, between March and the first half of November. However, in early spring and late autumn can be many days rich in rainfall. Winters are relatively mild and if the weather is good, you can visit Brăila also in this season, but with warmer clothes.

Braila City is situated in the north-east part of the historic region Muntenia, in a low area in the north-east part of the Romanian Plain at the junction of tree relief units (Danube Meadow, Braila’s Plain and Siretului Inferior Plain), on the left shore of this impressive river, the Danube and the average altitude is only 15-30 m height. The climate in Braila City is temperate continental, with long, warm and dry summers and short and rich in rainfall winters. The annual average of the temperature is 11-12°C and the average of rainfall is 500 mm per year. Besides Danube River, not far from the city is the Siret River. There are also some lakes in the area like: Chiriloaia, Misaila (both in Tulcea County), Opreanu or Lutul Alb Lakes.

Braila City known in the history under the name “Drinago”, has also a rich history and for a long time everything was concentrated around a fortification. It’s the most important economic, cultural and university center of the county and regarding the tourism, it has a lot to offer. The main activities of the inhabitants were always concentrated around agriculture, breeding and fishing, but in the last decades, starting with the economy and commerce development and the appearance of the commercial centers, the city got more and more a modern aspect.
