Relief, tourism, agriculture and other aspects:
Bhutan is almost totally covered by a mountainous relief with Himalaya Mountains with many peaks over 7.000 m height. The highest peak is Kula Kungri with 7.554 m height. The only fertile areas are in the mountain valleys where are the most cities and villages and in the south where is the Duars Plain. Unfortunately it’s an isolated country where the tourism hardly tries to keep the step with the modern world because till 1961 it was forbidden. The agriculture is the main activity, cultivating rice, chili, barley, corn and growing sheep, cattle and grunting oxen for food and for transport. (Find more journeys on blog.worldlifetimejourneys.com) Without tourism, agriculture and wood resources of the country, the economy would be down. Unfortunately the sanitary and teaching systems are low developed. The country obtained the independence at 08 August 1949. Visit Bhutan!
