Relief, climate and rivers of Austria:
Austria is famous in the world for its beautiful landscapes and for the beautiful winter resorts where tourists can practice skiing and other winter sports. It has a mountain relief in the west and central parts, but the elevation descends in the eastern, south-eastern and northern parts of the country. More than two of three parts of the country are covered with the Alps, therefore without the tunnels and suspended roads, the access in the area would be difficult.
The highest peak of the country is Großglockner with its 3.797 m height. Eastern and northern parts are typical with a downy area, actually they are a part of the Panonic Plain. The climate is temperate dry, but it varies according to the elevation. Summers are mild and winters are cold and long. Temperatures in winter are around -10 to la 0º C, and in summer they are around 20-25º C. The Danube River and its tributaries are the most important rivers in the country.
