West entry: follow the National road DN75 Ștei – Câmpeni and after the National road DN74Câmpeni – Abrud – Zlatna – Alba Iulia.
By train:
Alba Iulia City is not an important railway junction of the country, however the main railway routes which stop at Alba Iulia are:
Timișoara – Arad – Deva – Alba Iulia – Aiud – Câmpia Turzii – Cluj Napoca – Dej – Beclean

Relief, climate and waters:
Alba Iulia City is situated in the west part of the historic region Transylvania, in a relief area known as Transylvanian Sub Carpathians which connect the Transylvanian Plateau with the Apuseni Mountains at an elevation of 270 m. The west part of the city is bordered by Metaliferi Mountains, the south part by Sebeș Mountains, the north part by Trascău Mountains and the east part is bordered by a downy area composed by the Transylvanian Plateau. The climate is temperate-continental with the annual average of the temperature around 9-10° C. Winters are cold and last for 3-4 months and summers are hot with high temperatures. The main river which crosses Alba Iulia City is Mureș, but Ampoi and Sebeș Rivers are flowing close to it.

Alba Iulia City is one of the medieval cities of Romania and is known as the capital of Transylvania for many centuries and the place where the Unification with Romania was done.
