Relief, climate, rivers and lakes of Timis County:

Timis County has a varied relief composed by the Western Plain with low altitudes, followed in the central part by a downy and plateau area (Poganisului Hills and Lipovei Plateau). Poiana Rusca Mountains are in the east part with the maximum elevation of the county in Padeș peak of 1.380 meters height. Climate in Timis is continental-moderate of transition with major Sub-Mediterranean influences due to its location close to the Mediterranean Sea. The annual average of the temperature varies a lot between 7 and 15º C and the rainfall is 600-700 mm per year. The main rivers are Bega and Timis with their tributaries and the largest lakes are Padureni, Surduc and Dragoiesti Lakes.

In the west part of Timis County are small forests of oak, willow and poplar and in east are forests of spruce and fir. The fauna is composed by prairie and forest-prairie animals and include wild boars, foxes, deer, squirrels, rabbits, pheasants, quails and many others.
