Swaziland is a country with a predominantly mountainous relief with the Drakensberg Mountains that have a plateau aspect, occupying more than 90% of the territory and the maximum elevation is 1.862 m in the Emlembe peak. The east part is represented by a lower elevation area covered with savanna, while the mountain area is covered with forests, forestry being a very important sector for the economy. The climate in this small south-african state is subtropical with warm and rich in precipitations summers and also with pleasant and really dry winters. (Find more journeys on blog.worldlifetimejourneys.com) The most part of the population is concentrated in the center, where are also country’s capitals. The majority of the inhabitants are Swazi in origins and they are working in agriculture cultivating different plants for their own living. They also grow cattle, pigs, sheep and other domestic animals, so they live in small farms in the rural area. The country’s economy is based upon the resources of gold, coal, iron, diamonds and asbestos. It obtained the independence from Great Britain at 06 September 1968. Visit Swaziland!
