Relief, cities and rivers of Netherlands:

Netherlands has a relief with a low elevation and the coast areas are affected by floods. It predominates the low plain area and the largest part of the territory doesn’t exceed a few meters height. Many important cities including also the capital Amsterdam are situated on the coast where are in danger due to the global heating. But thanks to a well developed project to enhance the coastline, the danger of floods decreased. The most important rivers are the Rhine with its tributaries, Waal, Meuse, Sheldt and Ijssel Rivers.

Climate, agriculture, resources, industries and Dutch population:

Netherlands climate is moderate maritime with powerful winds (due to which the Dutch have built the famous windmills). Summers are cool with an average of the temperature of 15-18° C and winters are mild with an average of the temperature which is around 3-4° Celsius. (Find more journeys on blog.worldlifetimejourneys.com) The very well developed agriculture brings important incomes through the cultivation of tulips (locals are specialists in cultivating flowers), tomatoes, chili, cucumbers, fruit trees (especially apples), but also other plants. Among the most important resources are the natural gases (on the second place in Europe and on the fifth place in the world) and the extraction of oil from the North Sea. Among the most important industries are the food, oil and metal processing, chemical and fishery. Over 80% of the population is composed by Dutch and the independence was obtained on 30 January 1648.
