Macedonian relief, lakes and rivers:

The country obtained the independence from Yugoslavia at 08 September 1991. It’s the center of the old Greek Empire from antiquity and has a relief mostly composed by mountains with large valleys where the agriculture is practiced. It has over 30 peaks with more than 2.000 m height and the highest one is Korab peak with 2.764 m height. As about the lakes and rivers, this country has a few large lakes like Ohrid and Prespa situated in the south-western part of the country and important rivers like Vardar.

Activities, agriculture and population of Macedonia:

Unfortunately the country was affected by several earthquakes, the most recent one from 1961 destroying the capital Skopje and producing many material damages and also many deaths of innocent people. The country is also one of the firsts European countries as production of alcohol. The agriculture is another important sector of activity because the inhabitants grow sheep, chicken and bees.
