Denmark

Location, relief and climate:

Denmark is the smallest and the southernmost of the Scandinavian countries, but it has the highest population density. In addition to the continental territory, Denmark also holds 406 islands. The continental territory is represented by the Jutland Peninsula, which is situated north of Germany. Between Denmark and Sweden is the Skagerrak Strait. Denmark is responsible for two self contained territories, Greenland and Faroe Islands. The country’s relief is plain, with an average of elevation very low of approximately 30 meters. In west, the coast is fragmented where are many lagoons and in east are fjords. (Find more journeys on blog.worldlifetimejourneys.com) Bornholm Islacnd is different from the continental part because it is downy and rocky. The climate is temperate-oceanic with temperatures in the summer over 20-25° C and cold and rainy winters.

Economy, population and tourism from Denmark:

The service sector and processing industry are very important for the economy of the country, along with the well-developed tourism. Two-thirds of the territory is occupied by arable land with different cultures, mostly wheat, barley and oat. The Danish country is one of the European countries with the largest fleet of fishing vessels, fishing every year about one million tons of fish. The population enjoys a very high standard of living and tourism has an important role, mainly due to the capital, but also for its fjords or other cities like Odense and Aalborg. Visit Denmark!
